Newsletter Terms & Conditions

§1 General Provisions

  1. These Terms and Conditions (« Terms ») govern the rules for subscribing to and receiving the newsletter (« Newsletter ») provided by Théâtre de Liège ASBL, with its registered office at Place du 20-Août 16, B-4000 Liège, Belgium, VAT No. BE 0425.098.342 (« Provider, » « we, » « us »).
  2. The Newsletter service is provided electronically within the meaning of applicable EU law on the provision of services by electronic means.
  3. By subscribing to the Newsletter, you accept these Terms.

§2 Subscribing to the Newsletter

  1. The Newsletter is available to anyone who provides a valid email address and voluntarily consents to receive it.
  2. Subscribing requires: (a) entering your email address in the newsletter signup form, and (b) confirming your subscription via the confirmation link sent to that address (double opt-in).
  3. The Newsletter is free of charge.

§3 Legal Basis and Purpose of Processing

  1. Your personal data (email address, and, if provided, name) will be processed by Théâtre de Liège ASBL as data controller for the purpose of sending the Newsletter, containing information about the theatre’s productions, events, news, and related promotional content.
  2. The legal basis for processing is your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679, « GDPR »).
  3. You may withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge, by clicking the « unsubscribe » link included in every Newsletter email, or by contacting us at [contact email]. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.

§4 Data Retention

Your data will be stored for as long as you remain subscribed to the Newsletter, and will be deleted without undue delay after you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent, unless retention is required by law.

§5 Recipients of Data

Your data is processed on our behalf by The Rocket Science Group LLC (Mailchimp), our email marketing platform provider, acting as our data processor under a data processing agreement, solely for the purpose of sending the Newsletter. As Mailchimp is based in the United States, your data may be transferred outside the European Economic Area; such transfer is safeguarded by Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. We do not sell or share your data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

§6 Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to:

  • access your personal data (Art. 15);
  • rectify inaccurate data (Art. 16);
  • request erasure of your data (Art. 17);
  • restrict processing (Art. 18);
  • data portability (Art. 20);
  • object to processing (Art. 21);
  • withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7(3));
  • lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in particular the Belgian Data Protection Authority (Autorité de protection des données / Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit, Rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels), or the authority in your own country of residence.

§7 Unsubscribing

You may unsubscribe from the Newsletter at any time, without giving a reason, by using the unsubscribe link in any Newsletter email or by contacting [contact email].

§8 Final Provisions

  1. We reserve the right to amend these Terms. Subscribers will be informed of material changes by email.
  2. These Terms are governed by Belgian law, without prejudice to your rights as a data subject under EU law.
