Biography

Kamil Białaszek (born 2000) is a director, screenwriter and rapper from Raszyn near Warsaw, also performing under the pseudonym Koza. His debut LP, Mystery Dungeon – an experimental, industrial psychorap album – was nominated in Gazeta Wyborcza’s Sanki poll as one of the albums of the year. As Koza, he has played over 50 concerts across Poland and has performed at events including Up To Date, Lado w Mieście, Czeluść, Soundrive and Malta.

Since 2021, he has been actively collaborating with Fryderyk Award-winning jazz musician Kuba Więcek. Their first joint album, Niebo nad Berlinem, released by Warner Music, was very well received for its modern approach to combining jazz and abstract hip-hop. As Koza, Białaszek has released nine full-length albums and several EPs, and has collaborated both with gangsta rappers, such as Crank All and Avi, and with pop stars, including Michał Szpak.

For the past six years, Białaszek has organized his own festival, BYPASS, whose aim is to promote the underground music and performance scene.

He began working in theatre at the age of 19 as a dramaturg, collaborating with Krzysztof Garbaczewski on the production Boska Komedia at Teatr Powszechny. In 2021, he began studying directing at the Aleksander Zelwerowicz National Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. His theatre debut, nowy Pan Tadeusz, tylko że rapowy / a new Pan Tadeusz, but rap (2025) at Teatr Polski in Poznań, was a musical reinterpretation of Adam Mickiewicz’s national epic. The production received excellent reviews and was presented at the Kielce Theatre Meetings, the Divine Comedy Festival, the Stage Songs Review, the Warsaw Theatre Meetings, Open’er Festival and in Polish Television Theatre.

Białaszek’s graduation production was Howl, based on Allen Ginsberg’s poem, staged at the Jewish Theatre in Warsaw.

In December 2025, Białaszek adapted and directed David Foster Wallace’s novel Infinite Jest at the National Theatre in Warsaw, followed by Hamlet at Teatr Powszechny in Warsaw. These were among the most talked-about theatre premieres of the season.
Białaszek’s student works have also been presented at the Istropolitana Festival in Bratislava, the Forum of Young Directors in Kraków and the International Theatre Festival of Kerala in Thrissur.

He has also composed music for productions by Ewa Platt, including The Taming of the Shrew, Breaking the Waves and Feluni, as well as for Oskar Sadowski’s L’amour et la Mort.

Hamlet

Shakespeare was already writing about Gen Z.

Hamlet is an attempt to reinterpret and modernize the plot of Shakespeare’s drama. The action is transferred into a technofeudal reality, in which the highest form of power is held by corporate states. The son of the former CEO of the company “DENMARK” returns to the company for his father’s funeral and learns about the causes of his death. Meanwhile, a rebellion breaks out in a recently acquired company producing AI models, “NORWAY”. Is there any chance for revolution?

Hamlet brings together three main themes: Family, Death and Law, which form the structural foundation of the drama.

The creators of the production contest the right of inheritance as a capitalist tool of exploitation rooted in feudalism and patriarchy.

At the same time, they ask about the meaning of rebellion and the fight against the system, offering a diagnosis of the revolutionary potential of Generation Z.

This new adaptation of Hamlet draws deeply on internet culture. The production places strong emphasis on meta-theatrical devices and direct contact with the audience.
