Biography

Niccolò Fettarappa (Rome, 1996) is an Italian playwright, performer and director. He holds a degree in Philosophy from the University of Bologna, with a thesis on Theodor W. Adorno.

He made his theatre debut with Apocalisse tascabile, which he wrote, directed and performed in, winning several awards including In-Box 2021 and the Critics’ Prize at NoLo Fringe Festival. His works include La Sparanoia. Atto unico senza feriti gravi purtroppo (Agidi / Sardegna Teatro), Solo quando lavoro sono felice with Lorenzo Maragoni, and Uno Spettacolo Italiano, co-directed with Nicola Borghesi and produced by Emilia Romagna Teatro ERT / Teatro Nazionale, Piccolo Teatro di Milano – Teatro d’Europa, Teatro di Roma – Teatro Nazionale, AGIDI e Sardegna Teatro. In 2023 he was finalist at the Riccione Prize “Pier Vittorio Tondelli” with Orgasmo. Prosa dispiaciuta sulla fine del sesso, presented at Romaeuropa Festival 2024. His plays are published by Ronzani Editore and Luca Sossella.

His last shows are: Ustica – Una cosa che non fa ridere, Il Perdente – Commedia con disprezzo and Scemi del villaggio, written and performed with Lorenzo Guerrieri.

In ORGASMO, Niccolò Fettarappa explores sex, desire and intimacy as a lens through which to look at contemporary society. With his trademark mix of irony, irreverence and sharp social observation, he investigates masculinity, loneliness, frustration and the gap between what we are expected to desire and what we actually want.
Moving between confession, stand-up and physical performance, ORGASMO is a comic yet unsettling reflection on the body, pleasure and our increasingly difficult search for genuine connection.
